Description

Get on the water two full months before summer programs begin to get ready for the racing season. Paddlers in this program have completed programs with PICC before. Older athletes may be preparing for team selection events and other regattas that take place in May/June, while younger paddlers are just getting warmed up for our summer season.

Schedule

U12s: Tuesday/Thursday, 4 to 5:15 PM (paddle), 5:30 to 6:30 PM (resistance). Saturday, 10:30 AM to 12 PM.

U14/U16/U18+: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 4 to 5:30 PM. Saturday, 8 to 10:15 AM (paddle), 10:30 AM to 12 PM (weights)

Mornings in May: swimming (all) from 6 to 7 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 

Morning in June: paddling (U14+ only) from 6 to 7:15 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 

Equipment provided

Petrie Island Canoe Club will provide all athletic equipment.

What to bring

Please arrive wearing sunscreen, and dressed to get wet! Good paddling clothes are close-fitting and dry quickly. Shirts should cover the shoulders. Bring healthy after-school/after-paddling snacks, a water bottle, sunglasses, sandals, sneakers, a hat, sunscreen, a towel, and two warm changes of clothes.
