Description

Sprint canoe and kayak is an exciting water sport that combines speed, endurance and power, with technique playing a key role in developing speed and efficiency. Athletes paddle both single and team boats, build strong paddling skills and may compete at regional, provincial and even international regattas. New and experienced paddlers train together in a supportive environment while developing friendships, teamwork, leadership, responsibility, self-confidence and independence.

The fall program gives athletes the opportunity to continue training after the summer season. While many participants are returning summer paddlers, new athletes are also welcome to join. Paddlers continue on-water training for as long as weather and river conditions allow, complemented by strength and aerobic training throughout the season.
